Static Cling and the Lonely Singleton, Part III

First, my apologies for the lack of updates lately. Life, etc. has been pretty crazy and we haven’t been able to do much to the engine for the past 2-3 weeks.

I’ve recently started a Health IT training class, so between that and job hunting, I’ll have less time to devote to the project for a while, but I WILL still be plugging away at it whenever I can. However, this will also force us to once again push back our alpha release (@%&**$!!!!)

Now, on to the news. Sage and I have finished the reversion to a singleton-pointer setup. The actual conversion didn’t take very long because we had built the engine with the possibility that we might have to change setups.

While in the end, this will make using FlatWare (only slightly) more complicated, we believe that the eventual performance trade-offs will be well worth the trouble. Once we get past the alpha stage, we also plan to post a complete set of documentation and a full run of tutorials which should get everyone who wants to use FlatWare up to speed.

So, stick around. It’s gonna be groovy!
